Speaking on Show Must Go On ahead of the Basketball Cup Final Four, Michalis Lountzis explained that Olympiacos knows they have the “must” to win the title, but the pressure is something the players like.

Olympiacos is ready for the semi-finals with AEK (18 February, 8 p.m., ERT3 and LIVE from Sportish) as part of the Greek Cup Final Four. This was supported by Michalis Lountzis speaking with Spyros Kavalieratos on Pantelis Diamantopoulos’ Show Must Go On.

The international guard acknowledged there was pressure, made clear that each game had its pitfalls but stressed that the ‘Reds and Whites’ would be ready.

Michalis Lountzis explained in detail:

For the Final Four: “We are happy to be here to fight for another title and to return to this event. We have the opportunity to take Olympiakos to the top. We will do everything to achieve it”.

For the Final Four institution that has returned and what it means: “We are happy that the institution is back, it’s a very nice experience. It was time to see something different. It’s a race to the final. The individual races have pitfalls, but we will give 100% to succeed to be.”

Whether the fact that AEK has been competitive in league play will make everyone more composed despite the ‘Red-Whites’ being the favourites: Certainly because we’ve seen what AEK is capable of. But we also studied our mistakes. We didn’t have the energy in the league game, but we got the win. But we will be ready tomorrow. We know he’s made a significant addition (Langford) but we want to be ready..

For how Olympiacos comes from beating Anantolou Efes and how he manages to win the cup: “The fact that we come from victory means nothing. We’re playing for a title. There’s pressure, but we like it. “Olympiacos have to play a leading role and we have to give everything to bring the trophy to the world.”
