How are NBA locker rooms living the World Cup? Campazzo said, “Doncic favored Mexico.”

Facundo Campazzo I was, but not last night. Dallas visited the Toronto Raptors – who lost 105-100 – but his thoughts were far from Canada, with a serious face but not focused on the game. 10,000 km in Qatar.world Luka Doncic he was laughing “Luka was rooting for Mexico. He was joking with me. We were watching him in the locker room,” commented “Fakhu” with a smile. Leo Messi avoid next door Enzo Fernandez Tragedy for Argentina with Albiceleste’s victory (2-0) against Mexico.

Campazzo, who conveys the Argentinian’s burning passion for football, an all-or-nothing life in his life when his country plays, couldn’t live without keeping an eye on his team. On the bus, in the changing room…And warm up! I was sweating for a while, but I warmed up while watching the game on my iPad. “There was also a TV in the locker room, and I was able to watch it.” Conversations with Hispanic media outlets, including MD, revealed the rationale.

The World Cup is also alive in the NBA.And a good example of this is Dallas Mavericks. “There’s a lot of football in the locker room, with players from different countries following him: Slovenia (Doncic), Germany (Maxi Kleber), Australia (Josh Green)…” commented Campazzo. They have also been “represented” in the Texas team’s World Cup Frank Ntilikina (Belgium) and Dwight Powell (Canada), and all American players.

“The first match is more difficult because of the mixed emotions. I want to start now,” Fak said, referring to Argentina’s painful first match defeat against Saudi Arabia. In , the base has already visualized the final. And it’s very clear. “I hope Argentina win, but Spain are solid and we watched well. Let’s see if there is a final. Spain-Argentina And we won,” Campazzo bets with a smile.

positive despite his situation

the basis of 31 years old It exudes optimism all around. Argentina’s situation improved for the World Cup, but they will face Poland in qualifying. Robert Lewandowski Last meeting, it was by herself, not by her. Cordova’s exterior role in the Mavericks continues to linger two years later. Denver Nuggets, averaging just 7 minutes on court and appeared in 7 of the 18 games Dallas played. Against the Raptors, he played four minutes on the field and added an assist. But his hope still remains.

“I try to bring energy to the team, be ready when I have to play, bring that energy to help the team, and always train when I don’t have to play. Also, help Luka not get tired. I’m out of rhythm, but I’m happy,” affirmed “Facu.”In his third season in the NBA, Dallas signed him to a one-year deal in October rather than trusting him as an outside game replacement. Presumed and presumed signed. pension It offers the best leagues in the world.

“Doncic is now a pro and the roof is in his hands.”

Few people know the Slovenian as Facundo Campazzo more than Luka’s best friend and partner, whom we’ve already met at Real Madrid. The one from last season?

“Doncic will play better with age, he’s still young. (23 years old), the ceiling is in his hands, it is up to him whether he is very tall. he is showing it now. he is a professional from that game.today (last night) they let in two players But he always gave an extra pass. he was very generous. He’s a winner,” highlighting “Facu” about Luca, who silenced his detractors about his alleged overweight.

When 24 points The rest of the Slovenian teammates this time did not complete the job well on the Raptors court (105-100). This showed like the Celtics that Dallas is inconsistent on a collective level. What do you need to do better at the team level?

“Tonight’s shot (28% on 3-pointers) was well done and took extra steps. Teams need to trust them to come in. amazing shooterI have to take it easy from there, but it worked. When we are bad at attacking, we are scattered behind, and when we are good at defending, we can hit good shots. It’s also important to keep penetrating as he goes 2-1 to 4-3 against Luca. ”

“Doncic and Jokic are similar”

Campazzo’s new stage with the Mavericks has something in common with that of the Nuggets, with whom he shared a dressing room on both occasions. genius of the Balkans Nikola Jokic (Serbia) in Denver and Luka Doncic (Slovenia) in Dallas. “They play different positions, but they have the same talent, the ability to see the whole game, the intelligence that allows you to see everything before it happens. “They are winners, and when they lose they get angry and hurt. And in that they have that similarity,” emphasized Cordoba’s point guard.

‘Real Madrid are playing at a great level’

“Fac” Campazzo has kept an eye on Argentina and, like Doncic, is looking to make a comeback in the summer while his continuity in the NBA with another team was unresolved after being cut by the Nuggets. He also kept an eye on Real Madrid, who were there. The white team has had an uneven start, especially in the Euroleague – now he’s 7-3, but has reached a 2-3 balance – Shus Mateo.

“I try to watch the games whenever I can, but it’s difficult because I’m trying to catch up with training in the evenings and early mornings. There’s always talk of Madrid having to win the title, but I’m not right now. I’ve seen the games I’ve seen this season on an astonishing level.

Basketball player Elatontsev, who left Lokomotiv-Kuban, signed a contract with the NCAA team

The Oklahoma Sooners University of Oklahoma team, which plays in the North American student league NCAA, announced on its official website that it has signed a contract with Russian basketball player Kirill Elatontsev, who has a valid agreement with the Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban.

In November, Lokomotiv-Kuban announced that Elatontsev was likely faking signs of illness in order to avoid taking part in matches. Then the center voluntarily left the club and flew to the USA. In December, Match TV reported that Lokomotiv applied to the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in order to prohibit Elatontsev from moving within competitions under the auspices of the organization.

“First of all, we are glad that Kirill is here, because the path to this moment has been long. He’s older and has played against some really tough opponents, which will also help us in league games. In addition, he has an excellent shot from under the hoop. “We’re excited about his arrival and we’re working to get him acclimated to our program, our system, so he can help us as quickly as possible,” Oklahoma head coach Porter Moser said.

The release notes that Elatontsev can play for the team.

Elatontsev is 23 years old and made his debut for the main team of Lokomotiv-Kuban in 2021. The center was recognized as the best young player in the VTB United League for two seasons in a row.

NBA: Barnes’ powerful triple-double, Detroit defeat and Lakers victory

Six games were played in the NBA regular season on the night of December 28-29.

Toronto hosted Golden State and earned a hard-fought overtime victory.

The Raptors had a better first quarter, during which they broke away from their opponent by 10 points (33:23), but the Warriors leveled this difference quite quickly and by the end of the second quarter they were already +6 – 56:50. However, they were unable to maintain their advantage, at least until the big break when the home team took the lead at 65:64.

In the third quarter, Golden State took the initiative and took the lead by 12 points (95:83), but at the end of the quarter, Toronto made an 8:0 move, reducing the gap to 4 points (96:100). This continued until the middle of the quarter, and then Toronto slowly began to close the gap, tying the score at 120:120 47 seconds before the siren, thanks to Quickley’s three-pointer. The most productive player of the match was Leonard, who achieved a double-double by scoring 55 points and collecting 11 rebounds, which was almost half of the Clippers’ entire set.

Let’s bow our heads. Legendary basketball player killed by rocket in Lviv

Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. Today Sport.ua pays tribute to the outstanding Ukrainian basketball player of two EuroBaskets participants, Viktor Kobzisty, who was killed exactly two years ago, on December 29, 2023, supposedly by a Russian missile deep in the lines in Lviv. The man will remain 44 years old forever.

The legend of “Budivelnik”

Viktor Kobzisty was born on March 7, 1979 in Kremenchug, Poltava region. As a child, Victor played hockey and football. I quit football before because I was too high for this game. Later, Kobzisty quit hockey and focused on basketball. Victor, who studied at Kremenchug children’s and youth school No. 2, was considered one of the most talented players of his age in Ukraine.

After graduating from nine secondary school classes, Kobzisty entered the Kremenchug Pedagogical School named after Makarenko and in 1995, at the age of 16, he became a player of Kremenchug Neftekhim, where he made his debut in professional competitions. In 1996, Victor moved to Russian Samara, where he played only in the second team. Due to the fact that the club management rejected the offer to accept Russian citizenship.

In 1999, Kobzisty returned to Ukraine and signed a contract with CSKA Kiev, with which he became the silver medalist of the championship and the winner of the national cup in his first season. The army team finished the next championship in third place, after which Kobzisty moved to the ranks of Mariupol Azovmash.

In 2001, Victor tried playing abroad again – he went to Bulgaria, where he spent a season as a member of Yambolgazy. In the same year, Kobzisty played in the EuroBasket final as part of the Ukrainian national team.

Victor returned to Ukraine in 2002 and immediately became the leader of the Kyiv Budivelnik in the broadest sense. The legendary club was going through difficult times at that time, but the young people gathered in the team led by Kobzisty showed incredible thirst and attracted the attention of the fans with their fighting character. Victor spent four brilliant seasons with the Kyiv team.

Victor Kobzisty (No. 6)

And although “Budivelnik” was not among the leaders at that time, Kobzisty regularly received calls from the Ukrainian national teams. In particular, he played with the national team in the second EuroBasket of his career in 2005 and with the student team in two World Universiades. In 2005, Ukrainians won the silver medal, for which Kobzisty received the title of international master of sports. In 2006, Victor moved to Dnepr, but in 2008 he returned to Budivelnik and with him became the champion of Ukraine for the first time in 2011, after which he ended his playing career.

Coaching activities

Completing his performances, Kobzisty became assistant head coach of Budivelnik in 2011 and worked as an assistant to Josep Berrocal, Zvezdan Mitrovic and Ainars Bagatskis until 2014. Later, Victor took over as head of Dnepr-Azot from Kamensky, with whom he worked for a year.

In 2015, Kobzisty became president of Kremen from his hometown Kremenchug, and in 2017-2018 he played several matches for the club’s second team in the first division. He held this position until 2020 and also served as president of the club’s children and youth sports school.

In 2021, Victor was invited to work at the Lviv City Basketball Federation, and from 2023 he worked as the head coach of the women’s club Dynamo from Kiev, which plays in the Ukrainian Super League.

Death

Viktor Kobzisty also came to Lviv at the end of 2023 on basketball-related matters. He rented an apartment on Gnat Khotkevich Street in the Sykhov residential area. And it was this house that was hit by a Russian missile on December 29. One person died then. Victor Kobzisty.

Victor was buried in his hometown of Kremenchug on January 2, 2024. The funeral took place in St. Nicholas Cathedral, and the basketball player found eternal peace at the Svishtovsky cemetery.

Family

Victor and his wife raised two children. One of the sons, Alexander, now 22, followed in his father’s footsteps and is now also a basketball player. He played on Ukraine’s youth and junior national teams, made his national team debut, and currently plays for the University of Oregon team in the NCAA.
