Burg – Prometheus. Prediction and announcement for the European Cup match

“Burg” – “Prometheus” meeting will be held in France on Tuesday, December 6th. The fight starts at 20.30 Kyiv time. The match will be broadcast live on Xsport and Setanta Sports Ukraine+ TV channels.

Six days after the exciting match against the German “Ratiopharm”, which resulted in our club’s minimal defeat, “Prometheus” will have to pass a new test in the 2022/2023 European Cup. This time the wards of Ronen Ginsburg will go to France, where the leader of our group, “Burg”, is waiting for them.

It is somewhat surprising that the French club is in such a high position after a third of the regular season of the second most important European Cup. Of course, “Burg” does not belong to those outside the European Cup, but in the presence of Spanish “Joventut” and Turkish “Bursaspor”, at least it is not the favorite of our group. In part, such predictions were influenced by the result of the French in the last European Cup. Then “Burg” managed to celebrate only six victories in the eighteen matches held, finishing the regular season in ninth place in a group of ten teams.

It cannot be said that in the off-season the French club has increased significantly, solid, but in no way did top-class basketball players be replaced by masters of the orange ball of approximately comparable level. However, such permutations and the change of the head coach resulted. Currently, the team leads the European Cup Group A alone, and in the beyond competition French Championship, after eleven rounds, they confidently stay in the play-off zone. The most famous person in the current “Burge” is head coach Frederic Fotu, who managed the team outside of last season. Fotu was a very famous actress in the 90s – the first half of the 2000s – by European standards. He has seven French titles as a player and a EuroBasket 2005 bronze medal with his national team. As a coach, Fotu is also building a successful career. The 49-year-old expert has won his country’s last two titles at the head of the local Grand Asvela.

Among the current Burg players, it is worth highlighting the American defender Jordan Floyd (averaging 15.5 points per game in the European Cup) and his fellow countryman James Palmer (14.8 points per game in the international arena).

This game should be special for Titans tall man James Dickey. After all, the American started the season with Burg and even managed to play against Romanian Cluj in the first round match of the European Cup, but was soon expelled from the team. But while Dicky has yet to make his debut for the Ukraine team in the European Cup tournament, he is not included in the Prometheus squad on the official website of the European Cup.

It is worth noting that after six rounds played, the Slobozhansky club became the leader in many statistical nominations of the European Cup. Currently, Prometheus is the best in the European Cup in terms of tackles per game (10.7 points per game) and ahead of all other teams in terms of average performance (86.3 points per game).
