Bartzokas: “We didn’t underestimate AEK, we just couldn’t find the rhythm”
Giorgos Bartzokas explained that Olympiacos hadn’t underestimated AEK, they just couldn’t find the rhythm due to the way AEK played, but added that the ‘Red-Whites’ are not in danger./
Olympiakos was pressured by AEK at the end but eventually won 76-70 in the 2nd semi-final of the Greek Cup Final Four, with George Bartzokas saying positive things about the ‘Union’ but stressing that the ‘Red-Whites’ were not in danger.
George Bartzokas explained in detail:
“Congratulations to AEK, he tried very hard to stay in the game and win the impressions. We wanted to win the game. What matters is the win. We didn’t underestimate our opponents, we just never found a rhythm.
We had low percentages. It was also coach Deda’s decision to give shots to certain players, which he always does. He picks some things and a player is so alone in a shot that he has to bet. In such cases one becomes more skeptical, more hesitant. We were able to finish the game with a difference of more than 18 points. There are a few things we need to take care of in this game that we will focus on next.
AEK tried to play with our minds, a delay game. It forced us to go to another game. We didn’t risk it, the cup semifinals can’t go up to 40 points..
