Ginobili is a Hall of Fame inductee with the Class of 2022
Great – and expected – honor for Manu Ginobili, who is a candidate to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2022.
Manu Ginobili is one of the names to stand out in the Class of 2022 Hall of Fame induction committee list.
The tall Argentinian guard, who is one of only two players to have won an NBA championship, a EuroLeague and an Olympic gold medal – the other is Bill Bradley – is alongside former NBA players Tim Hardaway, Markes Johnson and the former NBA coach George Carl a candidate, former NCAA coach Bob Haggins, high school legends coach Leta Andrews, and WNBA legends Sweeney Cass and Lindsay Wallen.
Ginobili was one of the pillars of Spurs’ model team in the 2000s and 2010s and was one of the sixth-best players of all time. With the “Spirounia” jersey, he won 4 championships, was named an All Star twice (2005 and 2011), was a member of the 3rd Best Five in the NBA twice (2008 and 2011) and was named sixth player of the year once (2008).
What made the Ginobili a legend, however, were his successes with the Argentine national team, with whose jersey he won the Olympic gold medal at the Athens Olympic Games (2004) and the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympic Games (2008), as well as the silver medal at the World Championship 2002 in Indianapolis.
