Adam Silver wants more women in league: ‘We’re behind on this front’
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver doesn’t cut his hair when it comes to analyzing the pending tasks of the competition. A true example of society in many ways, the American League still maintains a glass ceiling for women and a prominent role for women within the organization. “Five years from now, if you haven’t seen the NBA’s first female head coach yet, you’ll be very disappointed.” The league’s CEO explains on the NCAA podcast hosted by Bonnie Bernstein.
The NBA currently employs five assistant coaches across 30 franchises. Jenny Bouchek (Indiana Pacers) Lindsey Harding (Sacramento Kings), Sonia Raman (Memphis Grizzlies) Christy Tolliver (Dallas Mavericks) and Teresa Wetherspoon (New Orleans Pelicans).
