Printezis in Game Night: “We wanted the title for ourselves, I made the decision for my future”
Apparently happy, Olympiacos captain George Printezis spoke to Game Night about the Red and Whites’ magnificent conquest of the Greek Cup.
Olympiakos won the Greek Cup after eleven years. The Red-Whites defeated Panathinaikos OPAP (81-73) in the final of the Final Four in “Dyo Aorakia”.
Giorgos Printezis referred to his feelings about winning the title, underlined that he would like to see friends from all teams on the field together in the years to come and also spoke about his future.
The statements of Printezis in detail:
To the title: “When you succeed and win a title, the feelings are nice. We didn’t want the title as an answer, we wanted it for us. We wanted to win the cup. Mistakes have been made in these years, but that doesn’t require analysis. I hope, basketball continues to improve because Greeks love basketball and we hope for a good continuation in basketball with Final 8 and not lightly.
I don’t hide that every time we raised a cup I was very happy and thought of nothing but a dream come true and I’m glad to be here for an independent role. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to win a trophy with the team.
For the final“The final is always like that. Most of the time, the favorite might not win. I expected the way the game was going to go like this, but we showed character in the second half and got some great shots. Everyone helped and we got the big win there is a title that gives “psychology for survival in Europe and the championship. Olympiacos is keen to star in the lies and I’m glad we made the club and the fans proud.”
On how he would like to see the finale: “Because I’m traditional, I want to see fans of all teams without divisions and restrictions. I don’t know how feasible that is, but today was a step. People love basketball and should have the opportunity.”
For his future: “I’ve made a decision, but I don’t want to say anything just yet. I speak neutrally because I love basketball. “I’m happy that basketball is growing steadily.”
