Forward “Orlando” got what he deserved for a dirty violation of the rules.

Fighting in the NBA is rare. Usually, players are limited to clarifying the relationship in words or light brawls. Mass skirmishes with assault remained in the distant 80s. After that, the league began to take hooligans on the court more seriously, imposing large monetary fines and lengthy suspensions.

Since then, serious fights have come to naught. But what happened in the regular season game between Detroit and Orlando shocked all basketball fans. The mass brawl ended in a deep knockout for its instigator.

Dirty foul after loss

The match between the outsiders of the Eastern Conference of the NBA “Detroit Pistons” and “Orlando Magic” was interesting mainly for the fans of these teams. Both teams are not at their peak right now and do not qualify for the playoffs. The game was played in a calm manner. The Bad Boys were leading by 19 points by the end of the second quarter.

40 seconds before the big break, Orlando basketball players were in attack. The Magicians’ German power forward Mo Wagner made a loss near the three-point line, and the ball quickly rolled into the half of the Detroit team. The German rushed to catch up with him, but Orlando player Killian Hayes also went chasing the ball.

The French attacking defender ran faster than the opponent and could easily get ahead of Wagner. Realizing this, the German pushed his opponent with his hip. Killian flew at full speed to the Detroit bench.

Knocked out a bully with one blow

In less than five seconds, a mass brawl broke out on the court, in which almost all the basketball players of both teams took part. But it was Mo Wagner who suffered the most in it. Karma fully returned to the German for a vile act: Hayes, who got up from the parquet, hit his opponent on the back of the head with all his might.

Wagner, not expecting such a turn, lost his balance and collapsed right on his opponents. Judging by the way he fell, the basketball player was in a deep knockout. The forward could not immediately rise to his feet. The fight continued for another minute, after which the basketball players gradually calmed down. The staggering German slowly wandered to the Orlando bench.

After the meeting of the judges, both parties to the conflict were removed before the end of the game. Hamid Diallo, who especially distinguished himself during the fight, was also sent to the locker room. All of them are likely to face a disqualification for several matches and a fine. The last such case ended with Brandon Ingram’s suspension for four games. In 2018, he hit Chris Paul.

The loss of two players did not prevent Detroit from winning a landslide victory. After the brawl, the “bad guys” did not give the opponents the slightest chance of winning, leading throughout the second half of the game. The Pistons ended up winning 121-101.
