A tragic event happened on Sunday afternoon (20 February) when 28-year-old Lokros Atalantis central defender Dimitris Soropanis died in a car accident.
A sad incident happened on Sunday afternoon when 28-year-old Dimitris Soropanis died in a car accident.
The center of Locros Atalantis lost control of its engine while entering the Soulis flyover, of unknown how, resulting in a high-speed impact on the roadside protection bars. The collision was violent and the unfortunate 28-year-old lost his life immediately, despite wearing a helmet and protective suit.
The traffic police are conducting initial investigations into the exact causes of the tragic incident. Soropanis played as a center and had played at Proodeftiki Larymnas, Kynos Livanaton, Ionikos Lamias, AEL and Panathinaikos in the past.
