Maksvitis on the fall of Panathinaikos: “It has never happened to me”
Kazis Maksvitis couldn’t believe what happened to Zalgiris in OAKA, he attacked Panathinaikos.
Zalgiris saw his lead turn from +15 by the end of the game at OAKA to -24 at halftime, a loss that worried and angered Kazis Maksvitis. After the end of the game, the Lithuanian team’s coach emphasized that he had never experienced anything like this, neither as an attacker nor as a victim.
“I’ve never been up 15 at halftime and lost by such a margin, 62-23 going into the second half. Not even as a kindergarten trainer. Panathinaikos got better by the minute, gained confidence and deservedly won‘ he said characteristically.
