Nick Calathes rested in Fenerbahce’s comfortable win over Buyukcemec
Fenerbahce had no particular problems against Buyukcemecse (82-69), with Dimitris Itoudis resting Nick Kalathis ahead of the Olympiakos clash.
Four days before the clash with Olympiakos in Istanbul, Fenerbahce had an easy game in the BSL. Dimitris Itoudis’ team easily overcame Buyukcemektse’s obstacle (82-69), with Nick Calathes watching the game in political attire.
Not because he had a medical problem, but because Dimitris Itoudis preferred to rest him ahead of the ‘devil’s week’ in the EuroLeague. Just like Devin Booker.
From there it was Melih Mahmutoglu (17 points with 5/10 threes) and Marko Guduric (15 points with 6/9 shots) who excelled offensively for the winners.
THE DECADES: 25-20, 48-43, 63-55, 82-69.
Fenerbacht (Itoudis): Motley 10, Birsen 11 (1/6 trebles, 8 rebounds), Hazer 3, Wilbekin 5 (1 treble, 6 assists), Edwards 13 (3/6 trebles, 5 rebounds, 6 assists), Gegik 6 ( 1 3s, 7 rebounds), Mahmutoglu 17 (5/10 3s), Hayes 2 (0/4 shots, 2/2 field goals), Pierre (0/2 3s), Goodrich 15 (3/6 3-pointers).
Fenerbahce team stats: 14/25 2-pointers, 14/37 3-pointers, 12/13 shots, 37 rebounds (29+8), 20 assists, 16 turnovers, 6 steals.
