Panathinaikos win the A1 women’s derby, Olympiacos the difference
Panathinaikos won the A1 women’s derby with Olympiakos, but the final score of 77-63 wasn’t enough to close the 15-point difference the Red-Whites scored in the first game between them.
Panathinaikos was the big winner in the A1 Women’s League Round 18 derby, beating Olympiakos 77-63 and drawing 1-1 in the games between them as the teams bring regular season results into play. the end. However, despite being -29 down midway through the third period, the Red-Whites managed to react and hold the difference they made in Game 1 (89-74 in Game 7).
Eleanna Christinaki with 20 points and Arika Carter with 19 were the top two scorers for Capogianni’s team, followed by Reed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. On the losing side, Megan Gustafson had 20 points, along with 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

The race
Panathinaikos came on very strong and with Eleanna Christinaki looking unstoppable and scoring 12 points, they finished the first period 31:19 (10′).
The dominance of the Greens continued in the second third, the lead was 16 points before the break (44:28, 20′).
The gap in favor of the cloverleaves reached the 30-point mark shortly after the middle of the third period (63:34), but Olympiacos reacted and reduced it with an individual 13:3… to 21 (66:45, 30th). .
The Red-Whites closed the gap further (66-50, 32nd) after a hat-trick from Suk and managed to hold Panathinaikos to just 11 points in the last third, maintaining the 15-point lead in the first game.
