Double for Monaco against Villeurbanne with Okobo in the foreground
The derby of matchday 19 of the French championship ended in the hands of pioneer Monaco at Villeurbanne, who are trying hard in their home commitments this year.
Monaco won a double in astroball with Villeurbanne in the big derby on matchday 19 of the French league (63:72). Sasha Obradovic’s side improved their tally to 16-3 and within two wins of Metropolitan Wembania, while TJ Parker’s side fell to 10-9 and currently sits in 7th place.
Eli Okombo was the top scorer for the winners with 20 points (6/11 2-points, 1/5 3-points, 5/6 shots) and 8 rebounds. Chima Moneke followed with 12 points (6/7 doubles, 0/1 trebles) and 6 rebounds. Mike James scored 13 points while Alpha Diallo added 10.
Among the losers, Retin Obasohan stood out with 16 points, while De Bost was also in double figures with 13 points.
