George Printezis spoke on a NOVA show about the national team and the differences from previous years, but also Giannis Antetokounbo.

Giorgos Printezis gave an interview to NOVA, which referred to his calling – returning to the men’s national team for World Cup qualifiers, the honor of competing with the crest and the differences between the national team of previous years and the current one.

The Olympiakos captain stressed that his daughter would like to know about his Olympiakos and Ethniki career, while he didn’t fail to talk about Giannis Antetokounbo who, he said, “understands more about his greatness abroad”.

The statements of George Printezis in detail:

For the national:You represent your country and in my opinion it is forbidden to be associated with groups. It’s different and it’s the greatest joy for any player.”

When asked if his daughter will see him play for Olympiakos or Ethniki first, Printezis replied: “Everyone is different. I’ve spent my whole life at Olympiakos, bad lies. I’ve had good moments and bad moments here, but I want my daughter to know about both.”

To compare to previous years’ National: “I experienced the National in two speeds. I was lucky enough to experience it at the 2008 Olympics. Back then it was just the National, it was a hierarchy of things that had nothing else in mind. It was a joy for every player, whether he was playing for a minute or for 30-40.After all that, it was like it had changed, like the National had lost a bit of its luster. Then you didn’t have to hear anything, you walked in and felt it.

We had an excellent team in 2010, it was the last Diamantidis tournament we played against Spain. We got off to a good start again in 2014, but didn’t make it into the round of 16. We know the ins and outs of being national, but you represent your country. The spark and pride must return to the National. In 2011 I learned that I would not be on the mission and I was upset. “When you hear your name written on the 18 players, you must feel joy and pride.”

For Giannis Antetokounbo: “Giannis Antitokoumbo contributed not only to the national team but to basketball around the world. Except for Greece, everyone understands the greatness of Giannis more than we do and I’m glad I have him more as a person than a teammate. The same goes for Thanasis. It is a big chapter and they both love the team very much.
