Higgins saved Barcelona from a heart attack with a big basket
Corey Higgins made the big basket, Ognien Jaramaz missed a three and Barcelona defeated FC Bayern Munich by a thousand tries (72-70) for the 23rd game of the EuroLeague.
Barcelona’s goal this year can’t be any other than winning the EuroLeague. The Catalans have not yet convinced themselves of their role as favourites, but on Thursday evening (2/2) they beat FC Bayern Munich 72-70 in their 23rd game at the Palau Blaugrana and went on top, but had a game more than Olympiacos and Real .
Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team improved to 15-8 (8-4 home and 7-4 away) with Corey Higgins scoring the big basket at 22.8 inches as Bayern tied the game.
Bayern, who didn’t have Andrea Trinchieri on the bench due to grief, fell to 9-14. Bayern Munich had a chance to steal the win in the final, but Ognien Jaramaz didn’t dribble well, couldn’t find space, executed a three-pointer in poor conditions and found an iron, leaving the Palau Blaugrana crowd relieved.
