RADULOVICH: “Our victory over Finland gave us confidence against Lithuania”

Head coach of Ukraine women’s team Srdjan Radulovic Commenting on the win against the Finnish team in the EuroBasket 2023 qualifier match (74:59):

“It was a good game and an important win, we gained confidence for the next game. I’m happy with the game the girls play. The game slowed down a bit in the first five minutes because the hall was cool. However, we started playing at a good pace towards the last five minutes. I’m happy because almost all the players took time. This is a good day for us.

We need to concentrate on 40 minutes of playing time. We cannot allow a match to start slow and seek the rhythm of the game during the game. If we make these mistakes again in the next game, it will be very difficult for us. Lithuania is a strong competitor and will pay for it.”

Forward of the national team of Ukraine Kristina Filevitch:

“We won with teamwork on defense. We tried to do everything the coach wanted to complete the task. I think we finally succeeded at the beginning of the game. We had a few mistakes, probably because we didn’t spend much time together.

I hope we will be successful in the match we will play against Lithuania. It’s really hard to play outside our house because we haven’t played in Ukraine anyway. But a lot of people came, children supported us. This is really important”.
