Srdjan Radulovic: “Lithuania game is one of the most emotional matches of my career”

In the last qualifying match of the continental championship, the Ukrainian team beat Lithuania (71:65), but this was not enough to qualify for EuroBasket 2023.

“I can’t find words to describe the feeling. I’m proud of the girls, I’m proud of the way they play and fight from the first second to the last second. It’s Ukrainian style. It means they play with their hearts and souls.

We achieved this result thanks to high-quality protection. It’s hard to play 40 minutes in a level. We started well but stopped in the second quarter thinking it was all over. But of course that is not the case. We came back in the third quarter and maintained a good defensive play for the last two ten minutes. This is how we got the result.

For me, this is one of the most emotional matches of my career. It wasn’t a good match, it was a tough match. It’s hard even for me to find the right words right after the match. I am proud of the team.

Overall, it was not an easy elimination. It’s very difficult to concentrate and play to the end during battle, believe me. The question is not only in basketball, but in the character of our girls in this difficult period. And we showed this character,” Radulovic said.
