‘Sfaliara’ for Monaco from Bourges and expulsion from the Leaders Cup
Monaco suffered a major upset at the French Leaders Cup, missing their first goal of the year. Bourges is a thief.
Despite a great performance by Mike James (26 points, 6 assists) and a versatile attacking talent, Monaco fell victim to a big (huge) upset in Bourges’ Leaders Cup.
Saša Obradović’s team was defeated in the quarterfinals (102-92) after failing to even manage the basics of defense in the forty minutes. Five players among the winners had double-digit points, with 62.9% on twos and 50% on threes explaining a lot about the situation Frederik Fatu’s players found themselves in.
THE DECADES: 18-22, 43-50, 66-72, 92-102.
MONACO (Obradovic): Moneke 13 (7 rebounds), Lloyd 14 (1), Motiejunas 7, Ouattara, James 26 (6/12 2-pointers, 2/7 3-pointers, 8/13 shots, 6 assists), Okobo 13 (1/6 3 points), Hall 10 (5 rebounds), Diallo 2, Macudo 3, Strazel.
BOURGE (Fatou): Massenat 14 (4/7 3-pointers), Palmer J. 18 (3/5 threes), Mike 11 (3/4 threes), Braima 9, Julien 9 (1), Pelos 6, Benitez 11 ( 1), Kerby 2, Floyd 15, Chasang 5 (1) , Kokila 7, Galan.
