Vladimir HERUN: “We already know how to beat Italy”

The Betis center and the Ukraine national team believe that our team can beat Squadra Azzurra.

“The mood of the national team is very good as always because I haven’t seen my comrades for a few months. The flight to Italy was not very comfortable because our flight was canceled but we were on the way together all day so it was fun.

We’ve played with Italy a few times, so we know their players and their style. Their team has changed a bit because they already have tickets to the World Cup. But the young players of the Italian national team are very ambitious and confident that they will play to win.

As in every game, everything must be done to help the team when I go out on the field. I can rebound, I can score, I can set the curtain, you have to read the game and do everything to help the team. But I don’t feel much difference between the previous games and this game because I think we have a pretty good squad in every position. We have to go out and do our best.

Basketball is a game and it’s our job, we try to do it as seriously as we can. But this does not even compare with what our fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did. We will try to show good basketball so that people in Ukraine can enjoy the game. We play for them,” said Gerun.
