Red Star – Baskonia 86-83: There is another team in Belgrade

The Red Star celebrated their 11th win in 26 games of the regular EuroLeague season on Thursday evening (March 3) when they beat Baskonia 86:83 in the 28th game.

The team from Belgrade rose to 11-15 (7-6 at home and 4-9 away), the Basques fell to 7-19 (5-7 at home and 2-12 away), who are on the remaining place at the bottom of the table.

The race

Basconia got off to a great start, with Fontecchio leading by nine points for 9-18 in the seventh minute, while the Serbs had 2/11 two points and 1/3 three points. 13:26 at the end of the first period and 13:29 at the beginning of the second period was a given that they wouldn’t scare the Red Star, and in fact that didn’t happen as the hosts responded with a 16:3 to reduce three and finally the twenty minutes in perfect balance (41-41).
