Ukraine beat Netherlands in World Cup qualifiers.
In the final qualifying match for the World Championship in Group L, the Ukrainian team in Riga defeated the Dutch team from outside the group. The duel had no tournament significance for the teams: the “blue-yellows” lost their chance to qualify for the World Cup, as they had not beaten the Italian team the day before.
But objectively, the chance was lost even earlier, when the team of Ainars Bagatskis lost to Iceland overtime and failed to beat Spain, although they had an excellent opportunity to create a sensation, but Bobrov got a dunk in the final attack. He could be saving his opponent with the last siren.
In the duel with the Netherlands, Ainars Bagatskis allowed all players to play, except Ilya Sidorov, who suffered a minor injury after the match against Livorno. With 17 points and 5 assists, Issuf Sanon became the most prolific player of the Ukraine national team.
As a result, our team achieved 4 wins in 10 matches. Italy and Spain left our group for the World Cup. The third team will be determined in the Georgia-Iceland duo to be played in Tbilisi.
