In the final qualifying match of the World Cup, the Blue-Yellows defeated the Netherlands in a landslide victory. The captain of the Ukrainian national team made statements about the match and summarized the results of the qualifying fight in group L, where our team was only 5th.

“This was the last game of the qualifiers, well, we tried to finish in a good mood. It is very difficult to play knowing the situation in our country, but we try to do it as much as we can.

We knew we had not lost against Italy, but at least we played every game for our country, for our honor.

I want to thank Latvia for helping us, giving us a second home to play the match – it was a great organization. I want to thank everyone for their support in this window

All our thoughts and wishes are on one thing. It’s not easy to play basketball knowing that people die every day. We have one dream for everyone in the country – to defeat the terrorist country, drive it out of our territory and end the war. “It’s not easy to do any sport, you have to stop the war, the fact that people die every day,” he said.
