Ataman explained the situation with Micic and spoke out in favor of postponing the game against Panathinaikos
Vasilije Micic will soon return to the Anadolu Efes rotation, as Ergin Ataman said after defeating Panathinaikos.
Vasilije Micic’s absence didn’t cost Anadolu Efes anything, which happened on Thursday evening, March 2 OAKA. After the game ended, Ergin Ataman was asked about the health of last season’s MVP, stating that he will be waiting for him near him soon.
“Individual level training has begun. He continues his treatment. The last few days have left a positive message. I spoke to him before we left for Athens. He will join the group program early next week. I hope he will be with us soon and he has given us a lot over the last few years. It seems that surgery is not necessary to overcome the problem he is having‘ he characteristically said after a relevant question was asked of him.
When asked about the possibility of rescheduling the game and whether he felt it was necessary given the tragedy in Tempi, he replied: “First of all, regarding the situations and tragedies we have experienced, I would like to say that I was impressed that the first aid that came to us came from Greece. As for the game, I would probably be better off postponing the game to play the game in better conditions. If the Greek government decided not to play, this would happen. We were ready to go. I also told the GM to speak to the EuroLeague and do whatever is necessary. After all, we arrived on a private flight. Everything had to do with the decision of the Greek government and the EuroLeague. It had nothing to do with us“.
