Ratiopharm – Prometheus. Prediction and announcement for the European Cup match

It’s been exactly one month since Prometheus’ last game in the European Cup. And now, after a break with the games of the national teams, the Slobozhansky club is returning to the international arena. “Titans” awaits a tough away match with the German “Ratiopharm”, who will open the decisive part of the tournament for the Ukrainian team in the second European Cup tournament.

One of those away wins came in the match against Prometheus. Ronen Ginzburg’s wards were considered favorites in that match, but Ratiopharm took control of the game from the first minutes and left his role to catch up with the current champions of Ukraine. Before the start of the fourth ten-minute period, the Germans were leading by fifteen points – 71:86 and the basketball players from Ulm looked like they would confidently lead the game to victory. But the decisive quarter began with a strong breakthrough of the Slobozhansky club, and soon the situation on the scoreboard was leveled. At the end of the match, Prometheus looked like they were going to squeeze their opponent after Gian Clavell’s efficient pass from under the shield, but in the final attack, Ratiopharma’s Brazilian playmaker Iago dos Santos gave a cold pass to Karim Jallow, bringing victory to the team runner-up – 105:106. Gian Clavell was the top scorer of this magnificent match with 34 points. As part of “Ratiofarm”, it is worth mentioning the aforementioned Iago dos Santos (26 points + 4 rebounds + 10 assists).

Compared to the first match, the German club made a very serious improvement. In January, Ratiopharm strengthened the front line with Bruno Caboclo, a Brazilian tall man with extensive experience in the NBA, with little success. In Ulm, the Latin American very quickly became one of the leaders of his new team. Especially in the European Cup, Bruno Caboclo’s statistics in this period were 16.4 points + 8.2 rebounds, while his productivity average was 19.8 points. For all three of the above indicators, the Brazilian is currently the leader of the team.

Today’s match will be a tough test for the Ukrainian club. Ratiopharm is a formidable opponent that the wards of Ronen Ginzburg, who suffered the most unfortunate defeat in the European Cup this season, have already experienced. Of course, “Prometheus” is determined to take revenge, but the basketball players from Ulm clearly do not plan to surrender to our club, especially since the victory of Romanian “Cluj” in today’s match with a parallel defeat with three rounds left. At the end of the group stage, he will officially make “Ratiopharm” a participant in the play-offs.
