Trinchieri’s incredible remark: ‘Villeurbanne parked a bus on the bat like Mourinho’
Andrea Trinchieri once again proved his ability to make people laugh by claiming that in Bayern’s game against Villeurbanne, the French parked a…bus on the bat, just like Jose Mourinho.
Bayern defeated Villeurbanne 76-72 in Game 27 of the EuroLeague and Andrea Trinchieri felt like joking after the game, which was reflected in his comments.
Speaking to the media, the Italian commented on the fact that his team scored 20 offensive rebounds and to explain why this happened he also included Jose Mourinho in his analysis!
“I have learned that you have to interpret statistics depending on the situation. You can’t make a grain out of a number” Trinchieri first explained and then explained the reason for the many offensive rebounds of the German team with a football comment:
“We shot a lot of threes because they had a tall player (e.g. Yusufah Fal, 2.21m) on the racquet and didn’t move him at all. They parked the bus like Mourinho and it was hard to tell from the picture!
Afterwards, however, Trinchieri immediately became serious and explained his reasoning even further: “We were missing our best post player (Vladimir Lucic) so we played more pick and roll, more than I like, and made a lot of shots. It’s good that we got so many rebounds because that’s why we won. The extra possessions gave oxygen to our attack.”
