Real Madrid: Marca claim ‘Pablo Lasso is on the ropes’
For the first time in almost eight years, Pablo Lasso is said to be in a difficult position when it comes to the Real Madrid bench. What Marca’s post points out.
In the first half of the season, Real Madrid showed enviable stability. It was early at the top of the Endesa League and managed to hold its place in the top spots of the EuroLeague. But now, for a month and a half, it has had several racing problems, as a result of which it has suffered a sinking.
The home loss to Basconia on the afternoon of March 5 was the fourth in a row at the WiZink Center for Liga Endesa, but also the sixth in their last nine games in all competitions.
That fact, combined with Barcelona’s clear dominance in this season’s Clásico, has put Pablo Lasso in a difficult position for the first time in eight years. At least that’s what Marca claims in a post on Monday 7 March, explaining that there are several voices within the ‘Queen’ who criticize him for the team’s progress and results.
On the other hand, of course, it is pointed out that the most competent judge, Florentino Perez, is always in his favor, recognizing the great offer to the club and the value of the work he has done since the summer of 2011 when he sat on the Spanish bench for the first time.
In any case, it is worth noting that in Spain the issue of Pablo Lasso has been questioned for the second time (the first time in 2013/14) in the last decade.
All this for a coach who, after several years of non-existence (sic), brought Real Madrid back into the EuroLeague foam and finally to the top of Europe twice (2015 & 2018).
