Janick MURRY: “Cholet transition would be a big deal”
In the first leg of the FIBA Europe Cup quarter-finals, Budivelnik defeated Cholet 73:72, getting the Ukrainian clubs’ first win in the European Cup play-offs of the 2015/16 season.
Cholet, what we saw didn’t show anything new. They have a very talented team. At this level and in this league, talent can be key. So we have to play our best game.
Now the guys are playing confident. I want to mention Bogdan Bliznyuk Archie Goodwin. Archie had a bad game against Cholet but came back with a strong performance against Wolves. Bogdan is already our leader and most stable player in 5-6 games. He is very confident now. Jeray Grant and Johnny Berganemeskel are also consistently playing at their high level. Friends coming out of the bench are also very helpful. The same Alec Brown and Andrey Gritsak do an excellent job. Our team is very confident now.
Yes, it would be a great achievement to beat Cholet and reach the semi-finals. Considering how much work we’ve done, what difficulties we’ve been through, how many days we’ve been on the road day and night, and how we’re playing right now. It would be great for both the team and the fans. We understand that this can cheer up our fans and Ukrainians in general. Yes, it would be great to pass Cholet, – said Janick Murray to the club press service.
The Cholet-Budivelnik match will be played on Tuesday, March 14, in France.
