Shampoo for Russia: “We will never be able to believe these liars again”
Arvindas Samponis spoke in 15 minutes from Lithuania about the country’s Independence Day and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Friday March 12 was a day of remembrance for Lithuania, which celebrated its independence from Russia. Something that gave Arvindas Samponis the opportunity to comment on the war in Ukraine and Russia’s position over the past two weeks.
“This day is very important for Lithuania as it marks very important things that we achieved thirty (30) years ago. We are free, we can make calls. There are places where these things don’t exist. I wish the people of Ukraine a lot of strength“said “Sampas” at 15min initially, only to add a little later:
“The propaganda didn’t start yesterday. Everyone has learned to live with it. We will never believe these liars again. A land of peace! Is there peace here? By bombing children and free people? I’m speechless. I don’t feel like contacting them. Statistics show that 70% of Russians support the war. Of course, I hope that number is lower“.
Finally: “All my life I have argued that sports have nothing to do with politics. Unfortunately we see that sport was, is and will be part of politics. Whether Russian clubs should leave the EuroLeague is out of the question. When they will return is difficult to say. It is not clear what will happen in this war. I can’t imagine athletes from Ukraine and Russia playing together. It is difficult to imagine such a scenario“.
