SIDOROV: “Three key players have been withdrawn, but we will try to win in the final”

Basketball player “Prometheus” Ilya Sidorov Commented after the LABL match against Estonian “Tartu” (89:67):

“Of course it’s good that we won, that we made it to the finals. But I don’t understand what’s going on with the team. Probably no one has seen this before in European basketball. Three main players are injured, Denis Lukashov is out of the game, Gian Clavell is injured.

Of course it is very strange but we must try our best and try to win the final tomorrow. Nobody bows their head and gets upset. We all work, we are professional basketball players. We don’t have any young players. Everyone knows how to win matches, even if it is difficult. Therefore, we will work to the maximum and adjust only to win tomorrow.

Denis Lukashov was absent in the second half of the match. He probably went for an examination right away. We’ll probably find out tonight, but it’s definitely not a microdamage. He couldn’t step on his feet. I wish him a speedy recovery. Let’s hope nothing bad happens.”

In the LEBL final to be held on April 8 at 17:00, the Ukrainian team will face the club “Prometheus”. VEF Riga. Before that, at 14:00, the 3rd place match will be played between Estonian clubs Tartu and Kalev.
