Prometheus is the champion of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League!

Latvian club “VEF Riga” was the current holder of the title of Latvian-Estonian Basketball League champion at the start of the match. Of course, all the Ukrainians were sick, so this season the champion would change, because if they won the final, our Prometheus could become the champion. Needless to say, hopes were high because during the regular season the Titans defeated their current opponents twice. True, the injury that attacked the team was a little embarrassing – Kennedy, Agada, Stephens and Lukashov were out of the game.

The game started with a crazy 3-pointer. With the score at 11:11, only once the teams scored two points and the rest were three-pointers. By the way, this trend continued throughout the fight – many people flew behind the arc.

Our first quarter thwarted the pressure from the Latvians. It was not possible to stop completely, our team warmed up and we lost the first ten minutes at 20:21.

But on the other hand, the usual domination of Prometheus began. Balvin’s strength, Sanon’s pace, Clavell’s concentration (who meanwhile earned the title of MVP of the season), Sidorov’s leadership skills and Petrov’s safety net instilled confidence in the championship even before the big break, and then those impressions were barely confirmed. . No panic, accurate scoring, skillful defensive play – Prometheus went nowhere. Latvians tried to do something, but their class was still lower.

In the last seconds of the 30-40 match, the teams just stood on the ground, as a result of which the siren recorded the score 77:62. “Prometheus” rightfully became the champion. Next – Conquest of the Eurocup?

Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. End.

“Prometheus” (Ukraine) – “VEF Riga” (Latvia) – 77:62 (20:21, 24:16, 22:14, 11:11).

VEF Riga: Brooks, Zoriks (21+0+3), Mishka (0+0+1), Ate (5+5+0), Relaxed (6+3+2), Butirinz (0+0+0), Klarents (13 ) +5+2), Pinnis (0+1+0), Gulbis (5+2+0), Krumins (2+1+1), Putans (4+2+0).

Jokic may lose his chance to compete for NBA MVP award

Denver Nuggets announced Nikola Jokic He will miss at least four weeks due to left knee hyperextension.

The Serb is expected to miss all 18 matches in January and his maximum appearances this season could be limited to 64 matches. So Jokic will lose the opportunity to compete for the NBA’s main prizes – MVP and inclusion in the All-NBA, as this requires playing at least 65 games in the regular season.

Theoretically, he could return for the January 31 game against the Brooklyn Nets, which would give Nikola the opportunity to play 65 games before the end of the season, but that scenario is unlikely.

Jokic was injured in the last seconds of the first half of the match against Miami Heat (123:147) and did not return to the field after a long break. Before his injury, he managed to score 21 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds in just 19 minutes.

Jokic averaged 29.9 points, 12.4 rebounds and 11.1 assists per game this season.
