Maxim Sandul won the Alexander Belostenny trophy in the Super League.
Budivelnyk Kiev center Maxim Sandul was named the best center of the 2022/2023 season in the Ukrainian Super League. He emerged as the league’s best hitter and first in the league’s most productive roster. Sandul’s performance allowed him to win the Alexander Belostenny Award.
Maxim Sandul played in 32 Budivelnik games this season and averaged 11.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Efficiency rating was 20.1 points.
Sandul, who played in 16 games of the season, made a double-double, the best result of the season. Maxim made a total of 40 double-doubles during his career in Ukraine.
Alexander Belostenny, for whom the award is named, has been Olympic champion (1988), world champion (1982) and European champion (1979, 1981, 1985) throughout his career.
The Belostenny award was previously received by Christian Jones (Chemist, 2019), Michael Myers (Prometheus, 2020) and Tyrell Nelson (Chemist, 2021).
