Sengelia: “The real difficulties are in other parts of the world, not here”
Tornike Sengelia appeared before the press as a Virtus Bologna player and spoke about the true meaning of ‘difficulty’ at the time.
Virtus Bologna introduced Tornike Sengelia on Monday 14 March, completing the jigsaw puzzle of signing the veteran striker. Discussing his decision to leave CSKA Moscow and wear the Virtus Bologna shirt for the remainder of the season, the 30-year-old explained – after a relevant question – that he didn’t face what happened as a personal issue happened in the last two weeks.
The reason; “I wouldn’t say it was a difficult time for me. The real trouble lies in other parts of the world. Personally, I’m sure I made the best choice. I’m happy to be with Virtus Bologna. The problems are elsewhere on the planet, not hereas he said to add: “It’s an honor to be here, I was excited when I accepted the offer to play for this club. I wanted to be there, I know the goal is to win the Lega Basket and EuroCup titles“.
For his part, Virtus Bologna GM Luca Baraldi meaningfully stated that “We will try to persuade him to stay beyond this season. We will play all our cards to keep him with us next season“.
We remind you that Tornike Sengelia has signed with Virtus Bologna for three months, ie until the end of the season, with the aim of leading it to the conquest of the EuroCup and “promotion” to the EuroLeague for 2022/23.
