Ukrainian women win gold and men silver medals at the University EuroBasket 3×3

In Debrecen (Hungary), the European 3×3 Basketball Championship between the teams of higher education institutions has ended.

Sumy State University team played by Igor Starodub, Ilya Kabatsyura, Evgeny Balaban and Sergey Startsev represented Ukraine in the men’s competition.

In the 1/2 final, the Ukrainians beat the Rupinsk College team from Israel at 21:12. In the final, the team of the Great Vytautas University of Lithuania, the current champion of the EuroBasket, went against them. The Baltic team managed to win with a score of 21:10 and retain the championship title.

In the 3×3 women’s group of the University EuroBasket, Ukraine was represented by the Vasily Stefanyk Precarpathian National University team, currently the European champion among university teams. Anzhelika Lyashko, Daria Kononuchenko, Veronika Kosmach and Veronika Lyubinets played for Ivano-Frankivsk teams in Debrecen.

In the semi-finals, the Ukrainians defeated the Western Brittany University team from France (17:7) and in the final match they were stronger than the Romanian Pitesti University team (19:16).
