Negotiations between the Greek “Panathinaikos” and Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk stalled due to the unusual request of the basketball player, the Ukrainian asked to write in the contract an option with which he could return to the NBA at any time of the season.

A few weeks ago, Pao agreed to Mykhailiuk’s salary terms: 5 million euros for two seasons.

However, Mikhailyuk is requesting that a clause regarding his return to the NBA be written into his contract with no time limit for this clause to be activated.

“He practically wants to be able to leave the team at any time,” writes journalist Giorgos Sirygos.

The Greek club made a counter offer to the player: the opportunity to return to the NBA will be in a limited timeframe next summer, but this does not suit the Ukrainian.

Mykhailiuk negotiated a similar demand with other European teams – to have the right to leave at any time, even in the middle of the season – but they all refused, saying they “wouldn’t discuss such a thing”.
