2023 World Cup breaks historical attendance record
Record turnout for the 2023 FIBA World Championship starting today, 25 August, in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
On the day of the first match between the Philippines and Dominican Republic national teams, 38,115 fans gathered in the stands at the Philippine Arena in Manila.
Local media reported that Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos has suspended schools and government offices in parts of Manila, allegedly to achieve historic success.
The 2023 FIBA World Championship will run until 10 September.
