World Cup 2023. Italy breaks Serbia, victories of Germany and USA

Three matches of the second group stage of the World Basketball Championship held in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines on Friday (September 1st) have come to an end.

The Italian team had a tough win against the Serbian team – 78:76. Italy came back from “-16” (44:60) in the third quarter, which started with the 18:4 lead of the Serbs. Striker Simone Fontecchio gave the best performance for the Italians. He has 30 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. As part of the Serbs, the defender Bogdan Bogdanovich hit the ring of the Italian team the most. He has 18 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

In Group K, the German team won a convincing 100:73 victory over Georgia. The top scorer of the German team was Maodo Lo (18).

In Group J, the USA team defeated the Montenegro team with a score of 85:73. Defensive Anthony Edwards had the best performance among the Americans with 17 points. Center Nikola Vucevic is the Montenegrin national team’s top scorer (18).
