Two more tickets were booked for the Olympic Games
The MundoBasket 17-32 2023 qualifiers end today (2/9) and resulted in two more countries booking their ticket to the 2024 Olympics.
The MundoBasket 2023 ladder matches concluded today (2/9) and resulted in two teams that will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The reason was that South Sudan and Japan edged out Angola and the Philippines respectively, securing their place in next summer’s big sporting event.
France, as the organizer, and Australia, representing Oceania, have already secured a place at the 2024 Olympic Games.
With MundoBasket, a total of 7 countries are directly qualified for the big sporting event. Two from the continent of Europe, two from the continent of America, one from the continent of Africa (South Sudan), one from the continent of Asia (Japan) and one from the continent of Oceania (Australia).
The remaining four tickets will be purchased through the pre-Olympic tournaments.
