Second Man Wojcik Memorial fight Prometheus Spending time with multiple champions of Poland BC Slask Wroclaw.

Last season, Slask lost its championship title to yesterday’s rival of the giants, Kral Szczecin, and failed to qualify for the play-offs in the Eurocup. In just a few weeks, the Polish club, like Prometheus, will start the prestigious continental club tournament. Therefore, both teams considered today’s match as an important element of pre-season preparations. At the same time, since the first stage of the EuroCup would be held in different groups, they did not worry about hiding anything from their rivals.

Prometheus started the fight confidently with the same quintet from the previous day (Reed, Keane, Lipovy, Vojnalovich, Odiase). In the 6th minute, the Ukrainian club’s handicap reached double digits (15:5). Tai Odiase, Marcus Keane and Ilya Sidorov showed their best performance again. While the red-white back row players confidently attacked the opponent’s basket from a distance, Tai Odiase gained superiority over their opponents in their own field.

Shlensk started to feel his game in the second ten minutes. In the 13th minute, Daniel Golebiowski’s three-point field goal left the teams with a one-position difference (26:23 in favor of Prometheus). However, the Ukrainian team did not lose the initiative. Marcus Keane showed his true leadership qualities in the second five minutes of the quarter. His excellent individual pass and assists to Davon Reed (in the first case, Marcus spoiled the fans with the extra pass) brought Prometheus the necessary points. The first half of the match ended with a magnificent multi-play combination, which Vyacheslav Bobrov completed in favor of Prometheus with Ondrzej Balvin’s pass at 41:38.

Shlensk managed to catch the Ukrainian team 50:50 in the middle of the third quarter (these were the same figures shown on the scoreboard after 30 minutes in yesterday’s match against Prometheus). The home team’s shooters found suitable shots and the team took the lead for the first time in the match. However, in the last break, as in the previous breaks, Prometheus left with a score advantage of 59:57. Ilya Sidorov struck timely from distance and Ondjei Balvin continued to play well at both ends at the end of the quarter.

The tension on the field did not decrease during the last 10 minutes. The teams entered the last two minutes of the match with a score of 68:68. Davon Reed was the hero of the last seconds of this interesting confrontation. His three-point shot and his rebound into the basket decided the fate of the match: 73:72 in favor of Prometheus.

The Ukrainian club became the only participant in the Adam Wojcik Memorial to win both matches of the tournament. After the final siren, Prometheus captain Ilya Sidorov received the main prize from the organizers.

Next week the team will have another representative international tournament. It will play against two local clubs, Darüşşafaka and Pınar Karşıyaka, in Izmir on 22 and 23 September.
