Yannis Bourousis praised the sacrifice of volunteers, security forces and the army during the rescue from the bad weather that hit Thessaly and sent a message of unity for Karditsa.

Yiannis Bourousis did not remain idle after Daniel’s “hit” in Thessaly. He’s never done it before – a testament to what he did in Attica after “Hope.” He actively participated in the efforts of volunteers, security forces and the army to rescue our stranded fellow citizens.

With the situation in Thessaly looking significantly better than last week, the veteran international center felt the need to publicly thank those who gave their lives to help those in need and send a message of unity to Karditsa.

His message in detail:

Thessaly and our region in particular have experienced very difficult times in recent days, with people losing their lives due to flooding, entire villages disappearing and property being lost.

I extend my sincere condolences to the victims’ families and hope that time will ease their pain.

I would also like to publicly thank the volunteers, security forces and army units for their continued efforts and contribution to saving lives. I have personally been at their side as a volunteer during rescue operations and admired their sacrifice.

The next day is very difficult for our region. We must all stand by our fellow human beings and do everything we can to offer them security but also hope for the future.

I would also like to thank ESAKE and the Basket League teams for the support and interest they showed from the first moment and supported AS Karditsas Japan in the upcoming championship. Our stadium was badly damaged, but we will fight to return home and want to bring joy to our fellow citizens who are in need.

ASK’s strength is Karditsa, that’s what we’ll play for this year alone…“.
