Messina: “Spanoulis was a nightmare for every coach”
Ettore Messina had the best words to say about Vassilis Spanoulis before Armani’s friendly against Olympiacos on the Night of Legends.
Armani Milano is the team that Olympiacos will face on Sunday (17/9) in a friendly match at the “Night of the Legend” in honor of Vassilis Spanoulis at SEF.
Before leaving Italy, Ettore Messina praised the EuroLeague top scorer and current Peristeri bwin coach.
“Spanoulis was an incredibly talented player who influenced a generation of athletes and fans across Europe with his creativity, smarts and perseverance.
I never had the opportunity to coach him, but I felt how difficult it was to compete against a player who was a nightmare for any coach. And he was not only a great competitor and winning player, but also a demanding opponent and person.” said the experienced technician tellingly about Spanoulis.
