Stimac took his son with him to Simanic: “A hero who left a part of himself on the field and moved to Serbia”
Vladimir Stimac wanted his son to meet a real hero, so together they visited Borisa Simanic, whom the 36-year-old center idolized.
Borisa Simanic, who is recovering at home after losing one of his kidneys due to an elbow he sustained during Serbia’s match against South Sudan at MundoBasket 2023, received a visit from Vladimir Stimac and his son.
The 36-year-old center even published a nice post on Twitter in which he wrote some very flattering words about the unfortunate 25-year-old Zaragoza striker: “Today Vukan and I went to Borisha’s house to wish him good luck in his recovery. Borisha embodies patriotism and is a role model for many, including me.”
I wanted Bukan to meet a hero who would leave a piece of himself on the field for Serbia and its people to make them happy and proud. Bukan must learn from Borisha’s example to fight for his people and his country. I want my child to learn and cultivate this from a young age, because as the saying goes, “There are iron bars in cooking.”
I repeat and hope that the federal and state governments appreciate this. We must never forget Boris.”
