Europa League. Barcelona beat Anadolu Efes, Bayern beat Alba
Today, October 5, Europe’s most prestigious club basketball tournament started. Five matches were played on the first match day of the first round of the Euroleague.
The season opened in Belgrade (Serbia), where local Red Star defeated French ASVEL with a score of 94:73.
Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated another Serbian representative Partizan on its home field. Bayern defeated Berlin’s Alba in the German derby with a score of 80:68. The Munich team fell behind after the first half, but managed to change the course of the match by winning the third quarter by 18 points.
In the main match of the match day, Catalan Barcelona defeated Turkish champion Anadolu Efes. Before the last quarter, the Spaniards were only winning by +5 points, but they played confidently until the end of the game and won with a crushing score of 91:74.
In another match, Italian silver medalist Virtus Bologna lost at home to Zalgiris. The Latvian giants lost most of the match, but had a successful period in the 4th quarter and managed to win this match.
