Panagiotis Giannakis said goodbye to his former coach at Aris, Giannis Ioannidis, with a beautiful post on social media, emphasizing that they spent some of the best years of their lives together.
“It is a very difficult moment to say goodbye to the people with whom you spent the best years of your life. He was the one who suggested my transfer to Aris.” believed in me and together we created something that went down in history because it changed the facts of that time in Greece and Europe.
Giannis Ioannidis was a special person and coach who wrote his own history in basketball. Passionate about the game and uncompromising in the face of defeat, he left his own mark and contributed the most to the popularity of basketball. My deepest condolences go out to his family and especially to his wife Iula and their daughter. Coach, thank you for everything. Have a safe trip, be safe wherever you go.
