Vit Kureishi will be left without a team in the NBA: Timberwolves won’t have him
As the NBA season approaches, teams are beginning to outline their rosters for the 2023-24 season. One of the victims of this cleanup that 30 NBA franchises have to do is Vit Kureishi, who has seen how his time with the Timberwolves ended before it even began.
The Minnesota team decided to waive his duties despite signing him last September. The former Casademont Zaragoza player earned a chance to play for the Wolves thanks to his strong performance with the national team last summer (averaging 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in pre-Olympic games), but now the team has decided to release him. .
Everything points to Kureishi playing in the G League for the Timberwolves’ affiliate, the Iowa Wolves, to open up new opportunities in the NBA.
The Czech forward played in 59 NBA games over the past two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks, alternating between the G League’s Oklahoma City Blue and College Park Skyhawks.
