Lokomotiv-Kuban center Andrey Martyuk told who he considers the best players in their position in the VTB United League and in the world.
23-year-old Martyuk was twice recognized as the best young player of the United League – in 2022 and 2023.
— Who is the best in your position in the United League?
— I’m very interested in the American Jalen Reynolds from UNICS. He is flexible, explosive, aggressive. I like playing with him: he is a EuroLeague-level player whom many could not stop.
– And in the world?
— Serbian Nikola Jokic from the NBA is too standard an answer. I would also mention American forward Brandon Davis from Milan. Also the Czech Jan Vesely and the American Jonathan Motley, with whom we were on the same team. I learned from him during training and tried to follow him. I really liked his aggression – in the good sense of the word. “He always tried to add energy to the team,” Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes Martyuk as saying.
Lokomotiv-Kuban will play away against Samara in the United League match on Saturday.
