The match between Prometheus and Latvian Ogre will be played in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League on November 4 at 18:30.
The rival of “Prometheus” is Ogre, the Latvian city of the same name. The basketball club has been in existence since 2014. The team participated in the Final Four 3 times. While LEBL won the bronze medal in the competition in the 2020/2021 season, they lost to their opponents twice more in the 3rd place match.
This year Ogre took 9th place in the championship with four wins and four losses. Among them is 19-year-old Ukrainian striker Vladimir Poluyakhtov. But perhaps the real leader of the team is a local player, 33-year-old heavy forward Kristaps Dargais. Kristaps was named the league’s MVP of the 2021/2022 regular season. He leads the team in rebounds (7.63 per game) and assists (5.38, fifth in the league) this season.
