Prometheus coach: “The way we attack and defend is a disgrace”

Prometheus’ head coach Ronen Ginsburg He shared his impressions after the defeat against Ogre, the team’s winner this season in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.

– Coach, what’s going on in the team?

“I think it’s a shame to play like that.” The problem is not defeats, losses happen to many teams that play twice a week. But the way we play offensively and defensively is a shame. We are not in the best period right now. The strongest team comes out of such a situation and recovers in the best way possible.

– What did you say to the players in the locker room?

“I don’t need to tell them anything.” I yelled at them in the locker room during the big break. I think some players have lost their self-confidence, but this is not an excuse, they need to play much better.

– How will you solve these problems?

– We must solve these. Time will show us. Our problems are related to the mentality of the players of the strongest club. But we’re not the only team with problems. We had no problems in the previous three years. Now is the time to face the problems.

– What would you like to see from your players in the Eurocup match against Wolves on Wednesday?

– It will be different basketball on Wednesday, but of course if we come out with a better attitude. We need to be stronger like in the previous Eurocup match, we started well but when the opponent started playing better we couldn’t react. First of all, I want to see the character. Confidence comes from defense, not offense.
