OFFICIALLY. Yagupova will not help the national team in the first EuroBasket qualifying matches

The Ukrainian women’s team started preparations for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifying matches, where they will face the Serbian and Portuguese teams.

Unfortunately, its leader and captain Alina Yagupova will not be able to help the Ukrainian team in the upcoming matches. As previously reported, on November 4, the Ukrainian player suffered an ankle injury in the Turkish championship match. Yagupova will only be able to return to training after 10-14 days, making it impossible for her to participate in the upcoming European Championship qualifying matches.

The technical staff of the Ukrainian national team will not call the player to replace Yagupova. Thus, 11 basketball players will prepare for the upcoming matches as part of the Ukrainian team:

• Elizaveta Mitina (Tomiris, Kazakhstan), first coach Ekaterina Glukhova;
• Victoria Balaban (Neptūnas, Lithuania), first coach Alla Bykova;
• Kristina Filevich (Prykarpattya-Frankivsk, Ukraine), first coach Aida Yevtushenko;
• Elena Boyko (Torun, Poland), first coach Valery Zhartun;
• Miriam Uro-Nile (Friborg, Switzerland), first coach Lyudmila Ivanenko;
• Tatyana Yurkevichus (Milan, Italy), first coaches Leonid Shabovsky, Natalya Dovgan;
• Veronica Lubinets (Cluj, Romania), the first coach of Aida Evtushenko;
• Evgenia Putra (Caledonia, United Kingdom), first coach Elena Fedchenko;
• Olga Maznichenko (Orly, France), first coach Gennady Shengurov;
• Vladislav Voloshina (Turan, Kazakhstan), first coach Elena Fedchenko.

Let us remind you that the Ukrainian national team will play its first qualifying match against the Serbian national team in Belgrade on November 9, and will host Portugal at the Riga Olympic Center on November 12.
