Evgeniy MURZIN: “We need to draw conclusions and forget this game as soon as possible”

Head coach of the Ukrainian women’s basketball team Evgeny Murzin Commented on the first EuroBasket 2025 qualifying game against Serbia (40:82).

“We gained good experience after losing. All the players got involved and that’s one of the few positive things I can say after the game.

Serbia had a complete advantage, especially in terms of shields. In general, I will note three components that affect the outcome of the game. First, the rebound was lost under our shield; Serbians made 19 offensive rebounds. The second component was 27 turnovers, probably almost half of them due to wrong decisions made on the first play or in passing. The third component is the execution of our three-point shooting (16.7% on 30 attempts).
