The following week of games set the stage for many interesting matches in the LEBL for fans. These include the duel between Prometheus and Riga Zelli, a new version of the Riga derby, as the Ukrainian team is in the Latvian capital for the second year.

Riga Zelli is a newcomer to the Latvian-Estonian League, who is at the top of the standings along with Kalev and Prometheus after the first seven matches. Juris Umbrashko’s team has one Prometheus-like defeat so far. Umbrashko spent part of his playing career in the Ukrainian Super League, playing for Khimik, Cherkasy Mavpy and Polytechnika-Galicia.

The Titans’ closest rival is in excellent form and is currently on a four-game winning streak. This series includes successful matches with very strong teams, compatriots from Ventspils and Estonian TalTech.

Riga Zelli is a young team consisting of two experienced players, Arturs Strelnieks and Kaspars Berzins, who are 38 years old. There are only two foreign players on the team: 26-year-old Canadian attacker Isaiah Osborne and 19-year-old Georgian power forward Giorgi Natshvilishvili.

Isaiah Osborne leads the team in points (18.6 per game) and steals (2.0). Riga Zelli’s most effective player and also the team’s best in terms of rebounds and assists is power forward Zigmars Raimo (8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 24.3 RE points).

The previous match between Prometheus and Ogre will add extra motivation to Riga Zelli. Ogre showed that his opponent could be defeated, despite being perhaps the main favorite in the league. And the Ukrainian team needs to get back to winning ways after three consecutive defeats. Titans are capable of carrying out this mission with absolute confidence.
